Hemorrhage-induced Neuroinflammation


We collaborate with our neurosurgeons, neurologists, and laboratory medicine specialists to operate a CSF biorepository at Children's National Hospital (currently called "Bear Brain Bank" ... while we wait for an interested donor 😉).  

We recently built upon our previous findings that blood products induce neuroinflammation following TBI by characterizing the neuroinflammatory signature in neonates with post-hemorrhagic hydrocephlaus.  Next, we're developing an animal model to specifically address the mechanisms by which blood induces persistent neuroinflammation in intranventricular hemorrhage.
